Commercial tile services

Commercial tile installation for Metro Detroit businesses

Restrooms, entries, corridors and break rooms take more traffic and harsher cleaning than any room at home. We plan the tile, the layout and the schedule around how your business actually runs.

Where tile works hardest

Commercial tile projects we take on

Floor and wall tile for offices, retail spaces and other businesses. Each area has its own demands.

  • Restroom floors and walls

Restrooms are cleaned daily with strong products and need tile and grout that can take it. Wall tile behind fixtures protects the surfaces that get splashed.

  • Entrances and lobbies

The first floor customers walk on, and the one that takes the most grit, salt and water. A durable, slip-conscious tile here protects both the floor and your visitors.

  • Corridors and open floor areas

Long runs of floor tile show any misalignment. Layouts are set from the main sightlines, and large tiles are leveled so edges stay flush under carts and foot traffic.

  • Break rooms and staff kitchens

Floors and backsplashes that handle spills and daily wiping, using the same layout care as our kitchen backsplash installations.

How it works

How a commercial tile project is planned

Commercial jobs succeed or fail on planning. Here’s how we approach them, from first conversation to final walkthrough.

  1. Scope review

We go over the areas to be tiled, drawings or specifications, and the tile you’ve selected or need help choosing.

  2. Schedule & phasing

We plan when work can happen, which areas can be closed off and whether the job should be done in phases.

  3. Preparation & installation

Surfaces are checked and prepared, then tile is set to the agreed layout with the work area kept organized.

  4. Walkthrough

We walk the finished areas with you, and go over cure times before heavy traffic or cleaning equipment returns.

Durability

Choosing tile for commercial traffic

The right tile for a business balances appearance with safety, cleaning and long-term wear. We can work to your designer’s specification or help you weigh the options.

  • Porcelain for heavy wear

Dense porcelain resists moisture, stains and abrasion. Through-body or color-body versions also hide chips and wear.
  • Slip resistance where it’s wet

Entrances, restrooms and kitchens call for a textured or matte finish rated for wet areas.
  • Grout that’s easy to maintain

Grout type and color are chosen to suit your cleaning routine and hide everyday traffic.
  • Layouts that age well

Larger tiles mean fewer joints to clean, and a simple layout is easier to repair if a tile is ever damaged.

Commercial tile questions

Can part of our space stay open while you work?

Often, yes. Phased work keeps sections of the space in use while others are tiled. Tell us which areas must stay open and we’ll discuss what’s practical for your layout.

What’s the best tile for a commercial restroom?

Porcelain with a slip-resistant finish is the usual choice for floors, paired with an easy-to-clean wall tile. Grout selection matters as much as the tile, because restroom grout is cleaned harder than anything else.

When can the floor take normal traffic again?

That depends on the setting materials and grout. We’ll give you specific timing, including when cleaning machines can be used, as part of the schedule.

What should I send for a commercial estimate?

The address, the areas and approximate square footage, any drawings or tile specifications, and your timeline. Photos of current conditions help too.
